Poetry Feedback

Our poetry café was a wonderful experience for all, inspiring us as writers and helping us acknowledge the talent we have on the Blue Barracudas! Please take time to notice poems hanging in the hallway written by students in other class periods. We will set aside time to do this 8^th period if you are present. Choose a poem to respond to and give positive feedback.

DIRECTIONS

1.     Identify the title of the poem and the author.

2.     Identify one aspect of the poem you liked with an explanation of why you liked it.

3.     Connect to the poem by explaining what it reminded you of or what you thought of when you read it.

Share Your Poetry Ideas!

We’ve been working on poetry this past week. It’s time to share the topics you chose to write poems about! Just as we can be inspired by topics published authors write about, we can be inspired by topics our peers are writing about.

DIRECTIONS:

1.     Share the topic of two of your poems.

2.     Explain why you chose each topic to write about (1-2 sentences for each poem topic).

3.     OPTIONAL: Share what skills or unique techniques you’re using to make your poem a quality poem.
