SGI Podcasts - Group 1

Check out the podcasts that the first SGI writing group created! Students analyzed Voices in the Park by Anthony Browne and created stories told from various points of view using voice appropriately. Can you find the similarities in the events that unfold and yet the differences in the way the stories are told? Choose one of the following ways to respond.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Listen to the podcasts under the same heading (example: Robbery Voice 1, 2, 3, and 4). There are 3-4 stories in each set. You only need to listen to one set.
2. Find 4 similarities between the stories in one set.
3. Find 2 differences between two of the accounts within one set.

  1. I thought the authors did a nice job of letting you know which character was specking and who's perspective it was coming from.

  2. I listened to the An Unusual Usual Day at the Ohio Zoo. I enjoyed it very much. It made me smile. The characters acted their parts well, the snake hissed, the little girl spoke as a small child would, the zookeeper was very forgetful. They all put effort into their recordings. They all mentioned the zoo, the backpack, the zookeeper and the snake.

  3. I wanted to add that the animal sounded like a happy little critter who looked forward to an adventure.
